Booking Terms & Conditions
1. Contract of Hire
The contract shall be between the hirer and Cumberwell Country Cottages (CCC). The Booking is made subject to the terms and conditions. The contract is effective on receipt of required payment and conformation sent to the hirer.
2. Reservations
2.1 Reservations are only accepted from:
– Persons over the age of 18
– Parties where the majority of members are 18 are over. (Except families of supervised groups.)
2.2 All male, female or student group bookings are only accepted on prior arrangement with CCC. A deposit of £100 per cottage is payable in addition to the advertised price, and will be refunded on condition that the property is left as found.
2.3 The number of persons occupying the properties must not exceed that stated on the tariff, except where authority has been granted with prior agreement with CCC and extra charges are paid.
2.4 Bookings can be accepted by telephone, fax or email and must be confirmed within 7 days with the initial payment being received by CCC.
2.5 Once a conformation of booking has been issued by CCC, the hirer is responsible for the total agreed price of the cottage.
3. Payment
3.1 Initial Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of total booking cost is required to secure a reservation. Unconfirmed reservations will be cancelled 7 days after provisional booking if deposit has not been received.
3.2 Balance Payment
The balance of payment for the booking will be due SIX weeks before the commencement date of the booking. Reminders are not normally sent. CCC reserve the right to cancel a booking where full payment has not been received FOUR weeks before commencement date of the booking.
4. Cancellation Policy
Holiday Cancellation Insurance is highly recommended. In the uncertain event of the cancellation of a confirmed booking has to be made then it must be received in writing and the following applies:
1) Cancellation is received more than SIX weeks prior to commencement date of the booking – loss of deposit only.
2) Cancellation is received between THREE and SIX weeks prior to commencement date of the booking – 60% of total cost is payable.
3) Cancellation received less than THREE weeks prior to commencement of the booking – full payment required.
5. Occupancy
Cottage lettings generally commence from 4pm on the afternoon of arrival to 10 am on the day of departure, allowing time for cleaning between visitors. Lettings are generally from Friday to Friday unless prior arrangement for a weekend, midweek or other period has been agreed with the CCC.
CCC operates a strictly NO SMOKING policy inside any of its cottages and reception area.
6. Breakages, Damage and Loss
The hirer of the cottage or cottages and all members of the specified group are responsible for maintaining the condition of the cottage and all of its contents. The hirer will be legally bound to inform Cumberwell Country Cottages of any damage or breakage. The hirer will be invoiced for any replacement, repair or extra cleaning that is incurred.
7. Vehicles
All vehicles and contents are left at the owners risk.
8. Pets
Dogs may be considered by prior arrangement with Cumberwell Country Cottages.
9. Website, Brochures and Descriptions
Whilst CCC makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of property descriptions and information contained in it brochures, tariffs, leaflets and advertisements (including website), these are inevitably objective and are for guidance purposes only.
10. Complaints
If in the opinion of the hirer there are grounds for a complaint, the hirer must inform CCC as soon as possible and under all circumstances it must be before departure for action to be considered. CCC will endeavour to resolve all matters immediately.
11. Contract
The contract shall only be effective on receipt of the required deposit.
